Wet Leg make alt dreams come true at Royal Albert Hall - Review

Isle of Wight natives Wet Leg are back on the road, touring the UK and EU until 27 November in celebration of their new album ‘Moisturizer’. Kicking off their run at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Thursday, 13th November, the group showcased their growth and delivered one of their strongest shows to date.

After two openers and a long build-up, anticipation in the room was high. Anyone who has seen Wet Leg before knows they never shy away from giving their all. Lead singer Rhian strode on stage, striking poses for the crowd before launching into ‘Catch These Fists’.

The energy was electric from the start, heightened by trance-like strobe lights. The group powered through the hit ‘Wet Dream’ from their debut album and fan favourite ‘Oh No’, sending the room into a frenzy. It is easy to see why the band has sold out this tour. Their unique, instantly recognisable sound translates effortlessly live and the fun they have on stage is infectious, with their focus and playfulness keeping spirits high and bringing the audience together.

The setlist blended tracks from the new record with well-loved hits from the band’s debut, making for a well-rounded selection of songs. Fresh off a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Performance for ‘Mangetout’, it is clear the band still have plenty more to give in the alt space - and we can’t wait to witness it.
