What a night! On May 21st, Irish indie-pop quartet Modernlove. turned Frankfurt’s tiny venue Nachtleben into a sweaty, vibrant celebration of music and energy. They brought a tight, confident set to one of the city’s smallest venues, but easily one of the most atmospheric. Tucked away just off the busy Konstablerwache area, the club’s low ceiling, dim red lighting, and close-packed crowd made the whole night feel more like a secret party than a regular gig.
The room was completely jammed, the air thick with anticipation and excitement, and despite the heat, no one wanted to leave. From the first track onward, the crowd was fully immersed: it was all smiles and fans singing along, vibing with the band’s infectious sound and dancing along to every beat. With their signature blend of shimmering guitar hooks, synth-driven beats, and catchy, emotionally charged lyrics, they had the room in the palm of their hand.
The chemistry between the four band members radiated off the stage, and their connection with the crowd was instant. The guys were full of charisma, charming, a little cheeky, and totally in their element. Whether fans were longtime followers or new listeners, everyone felt seen. Every beat, every lyric echoed off the walls and bounced from person to person, creating this warm, glowing sense of togetherness that only happens in venues this small and special.
Songs like “Take Me Far Away” and “Follow You” had the whole crowd bouncing, while slower, more emotional tracks created those classic swaying-in-unison moments that make live shows so magical. One of the highlights of the night was the performance of their brand-new single “Furniture”, which dropped last month. It didn’t matter that it was fresh, fans already knew the lyrics. The track’s infectious groove and emotionally charged chorus hit especially hard live, and it was clear the song is already becoming a fan favorite. Frankfurt showed up, sang loud, and danced harder and Modernlove. gave it right back.
The Spring Tour 2025 marks a new era for Modernlove. and with shows like this, it’s easy to see why they’re being called one of the most exciting new indie bands. After already selling out tours across 2023 and 2024, support slots for acts like Two Door Cinema Club and The Vamps, playing standout shows in cities like London, New York and Amsterdam their momentum is impossible to ignore.
With millions of streams, 50,000+ new followers on Spotify, and praise from BBC Radio 1, MTV and Wonderland, Modernlove. are quickly becoming the future of indie pop, promising even more unforgettable, high-energy nights filled with modern indie anthems.
