The second day of LIDO Festival was living proof that if you look closely at the world around you, you’ll likely find a reason to lose yourself to dance. Oh, and of course, that despite rain or shine, London will never hang up its dancing shoes.

After the storm comes a calm, or rather, after a dreary winter, comes festival season. Summer festivals have officially kicked off this month, and there's a new kid on the block – LIDO Festival. Held in Victoria Park, the 2-weekend festival is already making waves in the UK music festival scene.

Sinners combines the horror genre with masterful storytelling, including classic horror tropes such as jump scares and the supernatural, alongside eye-opening perspectives on the racial segregation and discrimination that many black communities faced in the early 1900s during the Jim Crow era. There is also exploration of family history, folklore, and the rich tapestry of music created by black communities across generations.

On May 21st, Irish indie-pop quartet Modernlove. turned Frankfurt’s tiny venue Nachtleben into a sweaty, vibrant celebration of music and energy. Frankfurt showed up, sang loud, and danced harder and Modernlove. gave it right back.
