Australian DJ Young Franco’s Manchester set had the perfect stage – the floor to ceiling bubblegum of YES’ Pink Room hosted a colourful party, people of all backgrounds coming together for a refreshing evening of dance. Although a drizzly mid-September evening, the ambiance could easily be mistaken for a warm summer festival.
As a part of the Brisbane producer and DJ’s extensive September/October UK and EU Wake Up Tour, with UK support from London-based Scrufizzer, Young Franco’s stage presence was playful and fun, engaging the audience with fan favourites ‘Juice‘ and “Wake Up” as well as lively reworks of classic dance hits, the likes of Moloko’s classic ‘Sing It Back‘ (Young Franco’s most recent release, feat. Dana Williams).
Closing with even more lively dance anthems, Candi Staton’s “Young Hearts Run Free” and The Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me”, fans, who had hailed from across the North and Midlands, left with smiles on their faces, a pure masterclass in dance music for all lucky enough to view the spectacle.
Young Franco’s Wake Up UK and EU tour continues throughout September, into early October, concluding in Rotterdam, Netherlands on October 5th.
