Asha Banks closes European Tour with an electric night, live at The Roundhouse - Review

There’s something special about witnessing an artist step into their biggest moment yet. And that’s exactly what we got to see on Sunday evening as Asha Banks took the stage at The Roundhouse for her largest headline show to date.

From the moment Liang Lawrence kicked off the evening, it was clear this was going to be a special one; the iconic venue instantly became electric, and it only built on from there. The crowd showed up ready to party, arriving early to catch Liang's beautiful acoustic opening set. Alfie Juke’s following performance got everyone dancing, officially hyping up the crowd for the rest of the evening.

But the real magic happened with Asha finally appeared, walking through the crowd before she even stepped on stage, creating an intimate moment with fans in a venue that could have felt more impersonal than the other smaller venues she played on tour. It was a brilliant entrance – and one that set the tone for the entire show.

The production matched the moment perfectly. Stunning spotlights embraced Asha in warm, heavenly light while plants decorated the stage, bringing her signature botanical aesthetic to the stage. It created this gorgeous, almost ethereal atmosphere that felt both grand and somehow still inviting and personal.

Asha opened with ‘Rerun’, a single from her most recent album ‘How Real Was It?’, immediately getting the crowd singing and dancing along. Throughout the night, she showcased stunning vocals as well as a truly impressive stage presence. Her voice soared through the venue, leaving everyone in absolute awe.

Asha has been singing a different cover for every stop on the tour – to the stress of her and her band, she jokingly mentioned. But she added that it became one of her favourite moments each night; something that quickly came true for London too, as one of the night's most touching moments came when Alfie rejoined Asha on stage for a cover of Noah Kahan's ‘Everywhere Everything’ – one of the two singers’ favourites, as well as the crowd’s, if the deafening screams were anything to go by. The two best friends spoke openly about their years of friendship and how special it felt to share this full-circle moment together. The genuine love between them was palpable, and the entire audience was hooked onto every note as the duo sang the cover.

The evening concluded with a touching fan project – a sea of cutout stars lifted in unison, a beautiful testament to the love between Asha and her dedicated fanbase. A fanbase that will certainly bring her far; this may have been Asha’s biggest venue yet, but it certainly won’t be her last, and we can’t wait to see where she goes next!
