Arthur Hill - An incredible atmosphere and lots of Dad dancing, live at Chalk, Brighton

On the 25th of November 2025, over halfway through his Stella Artour (yes named after the drink), Arthur Hill lit up Chalk Venue in Brighton with his incredible set and lots of ‘Dad dancing’.

Opening for Hill was Benjamin Steer, along with his guitarist Luke and drummer Marco. Steer’s “2nd time in Brighton” was not one to forget, with his fantastic set and music style that one could describe as being a combination between Alec Benjamin and Shawn Mendes. Self-describing his music, Steer says that the “way the songs go” is that they “tend to be super depressing but majorly vibey,” and he was not wrong. However, his set also included some more upbeat songs of his including the unreleased ‘Trophy’ to which Steer described as having “ultimate sexy vibes” which received an extremely loud cheer from the crowd. His set featured beautiful lyricism and instrumentals, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!

Before Hill even came out on stage, the crowd was wild with anticipation. With a massive Stella Artour LED sign on stage, and an awesome pre-show playlist including the likes of ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, One Direction, and more, it was no surprise that Hill received an electric response when he finally came on stage. His set consisted of some of his older songs, along with a few off of his most recent EP ‘Missed Again’ which was released earlier this year. The crowd was treated to some beautiful harmonies that can only be heard on the live version of Hill’s tracks, and lots and lots of ‘Dad dancing’ (a Hill special at his shows).

One particular and more memorable part of Hill’s set, would be when he slowed down for a few minutes and took a chance to talk about how grateful he is for the opportunities that he’s been given and how important it is to be genuine. He said that he has hopes to “be here (Chalk) this year and then next year be at Brighton Dome”. Hill then went on to explain how he does a cover at every show on Stella Artour, and that the cover he would be performing at this show links to his talk about being genuine and building stuff brick by brick. Shortly following this, was a gorgeous cover of Casey Musgraves’ ‘Slow Burn’, which Hill said “means a lot” to him” and that he describes as “one of the most beautiful songs ever”. Immediately following this emotion-filled cover, Hill admitted that it was the “closest I’ve (he’s) ever felt to crying on stage,” which you could see reflected in his sentimental performance.

Keeping with the slower and more chilled-out part of the set, Hill went on to play a medley of almost all of his songs that aren’t included in his set list including ‘Tiny Room’ and ‘How About Then’ before ending with ‘Passing Thought’. He says he does this medley so that “everyone can hear their favourite song”. After expressing how there was “so much love in Brighton tonight,” and to close his range of more sentimental songs, Hill performed ‘You’re Not A God’, which really showcases his incredible vocal strength and range (and also resulted in “making (him) cry again”).

Contrasting his slower songs, Hill then went on to perform some of his more upbeat songs including ‘Lily’, ‘Bride and The Gloom’, and ‘Miracle’, which had the crowd jumping around and ‘Dad dancing’ along with Hill. With a wrestling-style introduction to ‘Hey Arthur!’ and an extended verse in ‘Dead In The Disco’ entirely dedicated to jumping and dancing, the atmosphere during Hill’s set was electric. To bring the evening to a close, Hill went on to say “Brighton, y’all ate but maybe you still have an appetite” before transitioning into his song of the same name. He of course ended the night with even more Dad dancing and thanked the people that took part in the night including his band, crew, and opener, before leaving the stage.

Hill’s UK part of Stella Artour has now ended, however you can still catch him in Europe in the upcoming months, and on the 14th March 2026 at the OVO Arena Wembley; a show that Hill recently announced, and says will be his “only show next year”. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Hill, and are excited to see his growth.
