When Lola Young collapsed onstage last month, the reaction online told its own story. Beneath the polite messages wishing her well was an undercurrent of anger: people frustrated at only getting half a show, worrying about future cancellations, and even criticising her for needing a break. Why do we lash out when a concert is cancelled? And why do we blame performers, particularly young women, for health conditions they largely cannot control?
